The Desert Crawler is a hostile melee mob that spawns in the Deserts of the Overworld. Desert Crawlers attack with a moderately strong melee attack. Due to the high amounts of Sandstone that Desert Crawlers drop, it is recommended to kill any found (if possible) rather than run away.

Trivia

• The Desert Crawler is the counterpart of the weaker Cave Crawler.
• Desert Crawlers are arguably the most efficient way to farm Sandstone, which can then be used as a "bulk block" (for creating bridges/walls, pillaring up to get over cliffs, or for general building and decoration).
• Desert Crawlers will always drop either 80 or 160 blocks of Sandstone, though they can drop more when killed with a sword with the Looting enchantment.
